Spun from Irish grown Romney wool, this yarn offers the ideal balance of softness and resilience. Woollen spun for lightness and warmth, in light and springy 100g skein. Perfect for garments that honour both comfort and craft.
The fleeces are hand-selected on the Ériu farm in the Wicklow Mountains, from small, family-run farms across Ireland. They choose farms that practice regenerative farming and uphold the highest ethical standards. The farmers are paid 10 times the price they would otherwise receive selling through other routes, providing an incentive to raise sheep for high-quality wool.

Ériu
Ériu
Ériu started with a baby blanket, when Zoë set out to recreate a baby blanket handknit by her grandmother with Irish wool, she found that Irish wool was being exported as worthless and the textile industry were importing all the fibres they used.
"Under the spell" of the story of Irish wool, she began collecting fleeces from small farms and sent it to the UK for processing. Then she met Lionel, a sheep farmer and businessman, she found the perfect partner for wool...and also for life!Together they founded Ériu — and started a family at the same time.
This year (2026) they will be getting married and opening their own mill, so that all of Ériu's yarn will be spun in Ireland - reclaiming the heritage of truly Irish wool.
Ériu is the Irish goddess of fertility, sovereignty and abundance of the land, and the Irish word for Ireland Éire is deried from her name.
