Entropy is named for the randomness of the colours in each ply which shift and combine in different ways through each skein. This mimics the look of handspun yarn,  producing subtle colour shifts as you knit or crochet.

The yarn is dyed, spun, skeined, washed and labelled on Feederbrook farm in north Baltimore county. It is double knitting thickness made from 100% Blue-faced Leicester wool.

Each skein is unique, so please bear this in mind when ordering for a project. The colours will be the same but the way they combine gives you a subtly different gradient each time. There are 260 yards / 238 metres in a skein.

Each skein is dyed, spun, skeined, washed and labelled on Feederbrook farm in north Baltimore county in the United States.

If you are looking for some pattern inspiration, see what other people have made with this on Ravelry. It is perfect for colourwork and slipstitch patterns that call for sport weight or DK patterns.

PRE-ORDERS

To keep both costs and environmental impact to a minimum, we are placing an order for a full case of yarn to be delivered to us here in Edinburgh.

Therefore we are asking you to pre-order skeins to help us fill the shipment. Pre-orders will be available for one week - closing at midnight on 2nd September.  After that we will send our order to Lisa at Feederbrook to prepare.

The exact delivery date depends on the quantities and colours ordered and how much needs to be spun and dyed especially for us. We expect to receive our yarn 6 to 8 weeks after we place our order, but any changes to this and we will update you by email.

We have a small sample from Anna's stash, which is in the shop for you to come and have a squish.

Feederbrook Farm

Feederbrook farm is a small sheep farm in north Baltimore County in the state of Maryland in the United States. While a little further afield than most of the yarns we carry, Anna has family in Maryland which is how we discovered their beautiful yarns.

Their flock of around forty sheep are mostly a cross of Teeswater and Blue-faced Leicester sheep, bred for their long locks, which is why this yarn is naturally pill resistant.
