Magdalena Shawl

Magdalena Shawl is a sleek, triangular shawl with thin rolled edges and a small opening. It is worked back and forth in stockinette stitch, with simple edge stitches that prevent the edges from tightening. The work begins at one side tip. In the first half, stitches are increased, before transitioning to decreases at the centre tip. The work is then divided in two, and each section is worked back and forth separately to create the opening. The sections are joined again, and the second tip is finished with decreases. Finally, the shawl is lightly felted by hand to achieve a soft, fluffy texture.

The small shawl wraps once around the neck. The big version can be worn once over the shoulders, or twice around the neck.
