Varde is an aran weight yarn made with the fleece of Norwegian pelt sheep, a cross between the ancient Old Norwegian breed and Gotland. They have curly grey and white locks which leads to the muted colour palette when dyed. Lovely for cosy sweaters that will keep you warm for many winters and gives great definition to cables and other textured stitches.
